Route 66 Navigation App Promotes Businesses in Kingman, Cuba and other Route 66 communities

Touch Media, developer of Route 66 Navigation app and Mother Road Route 66 Passport, in collaboration with Jim Hinckley and other consultants developing new initiaves to benefit Route 66 businesses.

The innovative Route 66 Navigation app used by thousands of Route 66 travelers is being updated to include some exciting changes that will be of benefit to tourists as well as business owners. One example is inclusion of Beale Street in Kingman, Arizona, one block north of Route 66 (Andy Devine Avenue) that is at the heart of the ciy’s historic district reniassance. Art galleries, microbrewries, an eccelctic array of restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars and interesting shops that are often overlooked by Route 66 travelers will be given a promotional boost with the app adjustment. The decision was made to adjust the app after Marian Pavel of Touch Media toured Kingman with author Jim Hinckley, Touch Media consultant, and met with Vice Mayor Travis Lingenfelter at a meeting facilitated by Hinckley.

Hinckley who has been developing marketing initiatives in partnership with the tourism office and business owners in Cuba, Missouri is also working with Touch Media to adjust the app to include Main Street in downtown Cuba. This street, one block off Route 66, is also often overlooked by Route 66 travelers even though it is lined with a bakery and deli, restaurants, and other businesses. With the adjustment travelers will be encouraged to discover businesses along the Route 66 corridor including Missouri Hick Barbeque, Wagon Wheel Motel, Shelly’s Cafe and The Fourway as well as those on Main Street such as Rivera Maya and Frisco’s Grill.

“We are appreciative of Jim Hinckley‘s tireless support for our projects as well as his work to develop tourism in Kingman, in Cuba, and along the Route 66 corridor. Thanks to his initmate knowledge of local businesses and their needs, we have been able to propose a solution that not only supports small businesses in these two cities, but also brings added value to the travelers that use our app to navigate Route 66. And that is exactly our goal. We highly respect the history and businesses on various alignments of Route 66. Our innovative technology allows us to make regular adjustments to the application that will in turn enhance development of tourism on Route 66, ” said Marián Pavel, author of Route 66 Navigation.

“I am honored to be able to contribute to this project that promotes Route 66, and provides such a valuable service to the international Route 66 community, to communities along that highways corridor, and to business owners,” said Jim Hinckley.

As with every stage of the apps development, the adjustments will be tested and go through a demanding approval process to ensure that it meets the standards of Touch Media. Additionally, Touch Media will welcome and review any meaningful suggestions for improvements from communities in other cities on Route 66.
